Food ministry
“Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father; take your inheritance, the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of the world. For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
“Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’ " Matthew 25:34-40
Here at Pleasant View, we take this scripture from Matthew to heart. You might say we have a heart for the hungry - whether they're hungry for a relationship with God, hungry for a place to fit in, or just hungry! That's why we operate the
Pleasant View Food Pantry. Each week day from 9:30am to 3pm, we give out bags of groceries to residents of Washington County, VA, and we hand out "travel packs" to those who are passing by on foot or bicycle. So if you find yourself with an empty stomach, why not stop by and let us help ease that hunger. And perhaps we can feed your spiritual hunger as well. The hungry are always welcome here. |
New HOpe outreach
Pleasant View's "New Hope Outreach" reaches out to residents who find it difficult to get out of their homes or may have trouble affording or preparing their own meals. Each Saturday morning, a balanced, nutritious breakfast is delivered in a reheatable container. It may not seem like much, but a hot meal from a good friend can bring lots of hope. New Hope Outreach...how can we serve you?
